Staten Island Highlights - Delicious Pizza Restaurants!

Everyone knows New York City is known for having outstanding pizza. Naturally every borough claims that their local pizzeria has the best in the city and that is no different for Staten Islanders. If you ask a Staten Islander what the best pizza on the island is many of them will say that Joe & Pats Pizzeria and Resturant is without a doubt the best. With Joe & Pats signature thin crust pizza they have been serving Staten Islanders delicious pizza since 1960. Joe & Pats is truly and family business. Over 60 years ago brothers Giuseppe & Pasquale Pappalardo moved to America from Naples, Italy, the birthplace of pizza as we know it today. Eventually making Staten Island their home they opened Joe & Pats in 1960. Over the next two years the brothers whole family would join them in the business, making the move from Naples to America. Since then the family would have close ties to the Resturant business and in 1997 Ciro Pappalardo one of the brothers who immigrated to America in 1962 to work at Joe & Pats along with his financing partner and brother-in-law John Piscopo opened Ciro Pizza Cafe in Huguenot. Ciro’s son Casey along with his father and John Piscopo have also partnered to open a new Joe & Pats Pizzeria and Resturant in Manhattan on 168 1st Ave. With such a rich family history in the Resturant business there is no wonder why Joe & Pats and Ciro Pizza Cafe have such a loyal following on Staten Island.
